The final day has finally come. Today is almost as surreal as the day I left for Iceland. It's hard to believe the life I had previously led will all change in a matter of hours. All the people I had previously known will now be only at reach by internet instead of a knock on their door. It's almost like I had lived two lives, and now it is time to return to the former one. I feel cultured. I feel much more knowledgeable about many things, not only Icelandic ones. The people I had the privilege of meeting and talking to I will never forget. The last day in Reykjavik is a beautiful one, which is a pleasant surprise. I have gotten so used to cold, cloudy, windy Icelandic weather, I am almost shocked when I realize what summer is supposed to feel like. I know as soon as I get back home I will roast like a peanut. This day has had a long time coming, but it still is weird to think about all that has happened in a quick four and a half months of my life. I will never forget the relationships with the people I have met and how they have broadened my horizons. This has easily been one of the best semesters of my life. But, nevertheless, home never sounded so good. I am unbelievably excited to see my family, my friends, my fast food, my car, my bird, my house, my backyard, my cheap everything.
Iceland, you have been good to me. I will never forget.
